This week, M Group Services’ Water Division came together to host its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) workshop.
The event, which took place at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Leeds, saw members from across all operating businesses in the Water Division meet up to reflect on its ESG journey to date, and look towards the future of ESG within the Division.
Workshops were run throughout the day by Steve Cottrell, SHEQ Director- Water Division, Joanna Mitchell, Environmental and Sustainability Advisor at Morrison Water Services, along with Emma Bennett, Group Carbon & Climate Change Manager.
The collaborative discussions and thought- provoking questions asked during the day gave people the opportunity to talk through ways to improve communication within the Water Division and engage colleagues with ESG.
Attendees were encouraged to think about their environmental performance, the communities they work in and how the Division can collaboratively work together. The aim, to ensure a unified stance on how to achieve the Division’s ESG strategy.
Speaking on the importance of the event, Steve Cottrell, said: “It was a great to get people together from across the Division, to share so many brilliant examples of best practice and discuss how we move forward in line with our ESG strategy. ”
The Water Division is working to actively create a sustainable legacy through community engagement, protecting the environment and creating career opportunities for those who enter the sector, while delivering health, wellbeing, and safety to a high standard.
The day offered an opportunity for those across the Division to gain a wider understanding of the ways ESG data is collected, and how to move forward in its approach to meet M Group Services’ ESG targets.
