The Morrison Energy Services, operating as the London CMO, supporting the delivery of a more reliable energy supply for Londoners recently gave an eye-opening insight into their work.

Undertaking complex gas main replacements in Westminster on behalf of Cadent, our team from the London CMO gave a tour of the complex works being completed to deliver the London Medium Pressure Scheme (LMPS). Some of the mains which are being replaced are up to 100 years old, and to minimise disruption, highly skilled engineers are inserting the new mains through the existing pipe network.

These works are navigating some of London’s most iconic landmarks and sights, working outside of Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey, to name but a few.

There are a unique set of challenges, working closely and liaising with local stakeholders such as the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Transport for London, City of London, Westminster City Council and The Crown Estates to name a few to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and road users to ensure the high-quality improvements stay on track, particularly with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee later this year. Works will be temporarily suspended to allow for the celebrations.

Throughout M Group Services, our people endeavour to deliver our essential work in manner which is respectful to the communities we serve and those who are impacted by our operations. Our Morrison Energy Services London CMO team working on the LMPS is a great example of this, undertaking essential infrastructure works in high-profile locations while continuously supporting the needs of those around them.

Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of this fascinating project and the hard work of the LMPS team!
