ESG I Today (23 June) is International Women in Engineering Day (#INWED22). This celebration of women in engineering encourages us all to #ImagineTheFuture, by focusing on the inventors and innovators who can change the industry for the better.
Across M Group Services we recognise and value the benefits of having a diverse and inclusive culture. We work hard to build and maintain inclusive environments and develop a culture where all our people feel valued.
To mark this day of celebration for women in engineering, we’ve asked some of our people from across the Group to share what it means to them to work in the engineering sector.
Figures from June 2021 show that 16.5% of engineers are women. INWED plays a vital role in encouraging more young women and girls take up engineering careers.
We want to inspire younger generations on their engineering journeys. Our support for greater diversity across our business starts with our commitment to our new Science Technology Engineering Maths (STEM) Ambassadors program which launched in March. Our people regularly visit schools, engaging with young people about our work and show them what a career in engineering can look like.
