This week is National Inclusion Week and at M Group Services, we are committed to creating an environment in which our people feel valued, supported, and fulfilled. With that in mind, Morrison Water Services, a part of M Group Services, is proud to share the story of Leila Ibrahim, a Customer Service Advisor on our Thames Water contract.

Leila suffers with health problems meaning, in the past, it was difficult for her to find a career that was manageable alongside her recovery. Having been unemployed for almost a year, she was keen to find a suitable role.

Leila enrolled in PeoplePlus’ Restart programme in Ashford which helped her build her self-confidence and develop her transferable skills. As a result, Leila successfully interviewed for the Customer Service Advisor role at Morrison Water Services, which she was happy to accept.

Leila said: “I found the whole process effective and smooth. I wish I had joined the PeoplePlus Restart scheme much earlier as the support really helped me. I knew they had my best interests at heart.

“I am enjoying my role and it is convenient working from home. I look forward to seeing what’s next in my career.”

Jen Goldsworthy, M Group Services’ Resourcing Manager for the Water Division, said: “Our partnership with PeoplePlus has been fantastic. We have been working with the social recruitment partners to provide opportunities to candidates who may have struggled to find employment elsewhere, be it from lack of experience or finding it hard to get back into work after a period of unemployment.

“We want to make a difference and collaborating with PeoplePlus has enabled us to do so.”

Elizabeth Squire, Head of Employer Engagement at PeoplePlus, said: “M Group Services has supported Leila to work remotely and given her thorough training to overcome any obstacles when dealing with customers. The future is bright for candidates like Leila, who have the courage to deal with their barriers to employment.”

PeoplePlus has committed teams working across Britain to deliver a range of services including employment support and skills training.

At M Group Services, we want to ensure that everyone is given an opportunity to achieve their personal and professional ambitions and aspirations. We want to enable everyone to feel comfortable with being themselves at work regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality, social background, religion or belief.
