We’re proud to announce that we have won three awards at the Street Works UK Awards which recently took place at the Houses of Parliament, London.

Congratulations to our teams from Morrison Energy Services and Morrison Water Services who won the following awards:

Communication and Community Engagement:

LONDON CMO: Morrison Energy Services working in partnership with Cadent Gas Ltd.

This award celebrates the London Women in Engineering Group (LoWEG), created in November 2022, to fill a gap as there were no London-wide groups open to women working in engineering-based roles.

The Group is open to women working for councils, contractors, utility companies, TfL, the DfT, as well as lobby groups and students. With over 300 members, this group provides a safe, supportive space for its members to grow and overcome challenges within the industry.

Rising Star of the Year:
Katherine Rendon, NRSWA Coordinator, Morrison Water Services Southern Water contract.

Katherine's remit involves overseeing all Streetworks activities associated with the Thanet Sewers Rehabilitation Scheme, on behalf of our client, Southern Water. This undertaking represents an investment exceeding £100 million, encompassing AMPs 5, 6 and 7.

Tracking Streetworks activities for this project is central to Katherine’s role, using custom-crafted tools and our management system, ArcGIS. This invaluable resource delivers benefits to the entire team, providing everybody with instant access to permit numbers, work dates, permit conditions, traffic management schematics, statistics and more.

In less than a year, Katherine has made an extraordinary impact. Her unwavering dedication to exceeding her responsibilities, and the positive impact she has made within our organisation and the broader sector make her a worthy winner of the Rising Star of the Year award.

Project of the Year:

United Utilities in collaboration with Morrison Water Services.

We understand many water customers are facing genuine financial hardship. Working with our client, United Utilities, we have developed the Enhanced Metering programme. This gives customers a lowest bill guarantee for an unparalleled four years. This programme of work consists of installing water meters in areas that meet predefined criteria such as areas of high peak demand, high leakage, and high per capita consumption.

The enhanced metering programme gives us a view of how utilities and local authorities can work together to support their customers. The programme can be replicated and developed using the latest technology.

The Street Works Awards celebrate the businesses, projects and individuals delivering cutting edge technology and services across the gas, electricity, water, sewerage and telecommunications utility sectors.

These award wins highlight our commitment to being innovative, forward thinking and considerate.

Congratulations and well done to everyone involved.
