M Group Services hosts first Carbon Reduction Group.

A couple of weeks ago, M Group Services launched its second annual ESG Report covering the last financial year. This report provides examples of our ESG performance and highlights key milestones and achievements in addition to a summary of both Group and business successes and specific achievements.

We strive to consistently report on and evaluate our progress and are keen to identify further opportunities to evolve and improve. With this purpose in mind, we have formed an internal, cross-sector Carbon Reduction Group (CRG).

The CRG met for the first time this week to acknowledge the dangers of climate change and develop how, as a Group, we will develop our practices to adapt to changes in environmental conditions and reduce our contribution to global warming.

In recent times, global warming has triggered a great deal of national and international policy and legislative change and we feel it is vitally important to keep our businesses in the loop with what is happening and agree the best way to respond for ours, and our clients’ businesses. We are committed to acting in a sustainable manner to benefit the individuals, communities and environments in which we operate and learning from one another will help us continue to do so.

Andrew Hunt, Director of ESG & Innovation at M Group Services, said: “The newly established group has, for the first time, brought together 10 of our people, all experienced professionals from across M Group Services and its operating businesses. These individuals offer valuable insight into their specific sectors, so we’re pleased to facilitate them sharing their thoughts with one another and co-developing our carbon reduction plans.

“Going forward, the CRG is scheduled to meet regularly to agree how we decarbonise our operations and meet our commitment to halve Scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero before 2050. The aim is to work collaboratively to action these plans.”
